Shooting the Ballet

Got to shoot Huntsville Ballet Company's Sleeping Beauty last week and over the weekend as I worked backstage. Shooting the ballet was fun. Good times learning how to shoot action in low, theater lighting with lots of dark backgrounds, especially during rehearsals before the lighting was really set. Learned to trust my instincts and not rely on the meter all the time. Pretty much spent the entire time shooting manual. Couldn't use any of my zooms much because they were too slow so I spent most of the time using my 50mm f/1.8 and 40mm f/2.8 primes.

I don't like to post pictures of other people's kids so I can't post a lot of my favorite shots but there are still quite a few I can put up.
