Another Moon Shot
Beautiful clear skies this evening so I tried another moon shoot. Used my Tamron 18-400mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD at 400mm on my EOS M6 Mark II, tripod mounted. Exposure was set using the Lunar 11 rule, f/11 at ISO 800 1/800 sec. I shot about 70 images both autofocus and manual focus all triggered using a remote, wired trigger on my old Polaroid intervalometer.
In Lightroom, I imported them as DNG with lens corrections applied. I then synced the same luminance noise reduction (39) across all 70 images and cropped them all to the same 1x1 crop with the moon roughly centered on each image. I then selected the best of the shots, weeded out a few more of those, and exported the 28 best images as high-quality jpgs. I then used the RegiStax app that Tony Northrup describes in his video on shooting the moon to process the images as Tony describes.
I think it looks pretty good.
